lyrics

I eclipse you in a strip
From a photobooth:
Black and white
I look at it and I draw you.

In my drawing it's confusing, appears different:
You're farther away but even more eclipsed.

Draw myself with simple lines
And bold highlights.
You are scrawled,
But i got your neck more or less right.

I'll omit the context,
Omit your name,
Omit the year,
Say that I changed.

In my version our eyes are more direct,
In real life they were looking above the lens,

I omit the background,
Omit our hair,
Omit your chest,
But leave my hand there.

On that night before the first flash
Look formal, I said.
Sat on your lap
And we made our eyes pretend.

We look like our dead relatives: it makes me feel sick.
You're further from me and you're even more eclipsed.
